Maternity Photography FAQs
When should I take my maternity photos?
I suggest planning your maternity photo sessions around 30-35 weeks or 7-8 months into your pregnancy. This timeframe ensures a noticeably rounded belly without excessive discomfort. While this is a general guideline, exceptions may apply.
What should I bring for my maternity photography session?
For a smooth and comfortable maternity session, consider bringing water and snacks for energy. Comfy shoes for casual photos, and a jacket or sweater for cooler locations. Having touch-up makeup and hairspray on hand is also recommended.
What's the recommended attire for my maternity photo session?
You can choose from our collection of maternity gowns or feel free to bring your own outfit. Opt for something tight and stretchy to showcase your baby bump, and consider wearing a nude seamless strapless bra and nude underwear.
Do I need to bring props to my session?
While not essential, props can enhance your photos with a personal touch. Bring colored balloons for a gender reveal, blocks to spell out the name, or charming items like baby shoes and sonograms.
What is included in your maternity photography session?
In person/online consultation, Wardrobe and styling assistance, moodboard planning and preparation, High resolution edited photos which would be perfect for printing , online gallery of images to share with friends & family

WHERE IS THE LOCATION FOR MY MATERNITY PHOTO SESSION? DO YOU OPERATE FROM A STUDIO?
When booking your session(s), I'll suggest ideal locations for your preferred style, often parks or beaches. I advise one location to maximize time. At the moment, I don't provide studio photography services for maternity photos. If you require an indoor session, I have alternative options available. Feel free to reach out for more details.
What maternity photography locations can I choose from, and can we visit multiple places?
When booking your session(s), I'll suggest ideal locations for your preferred style, often parks or beaches. I advise one location to maximize time and ensure comfort for the expectant mother. Outdoor options can vary with seasons and weather.
Does the image package include retouching?
Certainly! Retouching is included in the image purchase price. Feel free to share any specific retouching requests you may have.
DO YOU OFFER PHOTO ALBUMS AND IMAGE PRINTING SERVICE?
Absolutely! I offer beautifully crafted photo albums, fine art prints and wall art. These tangible keepsakes showcase your cherished images in a timeless format. Collaborating with professional printing labs, I deliver albums that truly reflect the beauty of your photographs. Experience the tactile beauty of handcrafted albums and museum-quality fine art prints during your consultation.
ARE WE ENTITLED TO RAW OR UNEDITED IMAGES ?
Regrettably, I don't provide any RAW or unedited files. My emphasis is on delivering a high-end finished product. I believe the meticulous editing enhances the overall quality and enjoyment. I shoot with the final, post-produced product in mind.
When can we expect to receive our photographs/products?
You will receive the finalized set of images as an online gallery within 5 working days (exclude weekends) of the shoot.
The turn around time for albums and wall art is 6-8 weeks.
Are there any hidden costs?
There are no extra or hidden costs for the sessions. Prior to booking you will receive a full pricing info. Upon booking a photoshoot you will receive a contract with all of the details of the shoot so you know exactly what to expect. A non refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance is due 1 week prior to the session. The pricing of sessions are as stated. You can also purchase extra prints, albums or wallart if you wish.
Is it possible to keep my session images private?
Absolutely! If you prefer privacy for your images, just let me know during booking. I fully respect your choice, and images won't be shared on my blog. For increased privacy, consider adding an exclusive license to your base package. See the contract for pricing details.
Can you explain the concept of an exclusive license?
My prices include permission to use selected photos & videos for marketing. I may share some of them on social media and my blog for keeping my portfolio up to date. Do you charge travel fees?
Not if in the Wellington area. Travel fees may apply outside of Wellington.
What if I have an outdoor shoot booked and the weather is bad?
If it is raining on the day of your photoshoot we will need to postpone. I will be in touch to advise of postponement on the day and ask you to re book a date that suits.
