A Gathering of Unity and Devotion
On June 1st, 2025, I had the incredible honour of photographing Gayatri Jayanti, a spiritually uplifting event organized by Gayatri Pariwar Wellington – New Zealand, held at St. Patrick’s College Hall in Wellington. This celebration was more than just a cultural gathering—it was a profound reminder of unity, devotion, and the power of selfless service.
Inspired by the timeless teachings of Pt. Shriram Sharma Acharya, the event brought together over 300 devotees from diverse backgrounds, all sharing the vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—“The world is one family.” The energy, warmth, and devotion in the hall were palpable, creating an atmosphere of peace and spiritual connection.
Highlights of the Gayatri Jayanti Celebration
The highlight of the evening was the 1100 Mahadeep Gayatri Yagya, a spectacular display of collective faith and devotion. The hall resonated with the chanting of the Gayatri Mantra, soulful bhajans, and vibrant cultural performances, filling the space with light and spiritual energy. From the lighting of the diyas to the collective prayers, every moment reflected the harmony and togetherness that Sanatan values inspire.
It was deeply moving to witness devotees coming together, transcending boundaries, and connecting through shared faith. Each frame captured during the event tells a story of devotion, community, and the uplifting spirit of selfless service—or Seva.

The success of Gayatri Jayanti would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of volunteers, executive members, and supporters who worked behind the scenes. Their dedication ensured that Gurudev’s vision came to life, creating an event that was both spiritually meaningful and seamlessly organized.
As a photographer, documenting these moments was a privilege. The images reflect not only the light of Gayatri but also the strength of collective devotion and the joy that comes from serving and connecting with others.
